Innovative Resource Campus Welcomes
High Demand Oral Health Clinic

Kids in Need of Dentistry Opens New Clinic at 7190 Colorado Blvd.

Front-range families can now experience innovative and convenient access to a vast array of health and social services with the opening of Adams County’s first Community Resource Hub (the Hub) at 7190 Colorado Blvd.

The Hub centralizes health and other vital social services for families in one location inside the former Adams County Human Services building, located near the 72nd Street N-Line Light Rail Station and multiple RTD bus stops, and within walking distance to two, low-income Adams County schools.

This is more than a clinic; KIND, and our community Hub partners, are building a place for and with the communities we serve. Every room we design, and every service we offer, will continue to be informed by the voiced needs of client families. That is what makes this project special; it belongs to the community

Kids in Need of Dentistry’s (KIND) clinic opened in May. Kids First Health Care’s (Kids First) clinic will also share the fourth-floor space to offer patients holistic care and a comprehensive integration of medical, mental and dental health services.

Research shows that overall wellness not only requires medical care, but social, psychological, cultural, financial and individual supports. The community Hub will be occupied by collaborating social service agencies – like KIND and Kids First – that are committed to addressing the Social Determinants of Health and promoting equitable health outcomes for all.

“KIND has been part of this community for over 100 years, and we’re proud to partner with our neighbors to build a dental home that increases oral health equity by empowering the community to decide what that means and needs to look like for them” said KIND’s Executive Director Ellie Burbee. “This is more than a clinic; KIND, and our community Hub partners, are building a place for and with the communities we serve. Every room we design, every service we offer, will continue to be informed by the voiced needs of client families. That is what makes this project special; it belongs to the community.”

With surging health care shortages and one fourth of children needing dental care, this community hub will help address the demand for care in not only Commerce City, but neighboring suburb Thornton and many parts of Adams County and Denver.

The Early Childhood Partnership of Adams County (ECPAC) Child & Family Health & Well Being Team has been housed at the community Hub since August. They not only serve as a backbone organization for the project, but also provide resource center supports like resource navigation supports and parent/family groups/classes.

“Two years after the launch of this idea, we continue evolving and growing to make health care and other support services even more accessible to the communities we serve. Families need a hub they can become familiar with,” said ECPAC Executive Director Lisa Jansen Thompson.

Other partners at the Hub include ACCESS Housing, Maria Droste Counseling Center, Creative Treatment Options, and Tri-County Health Dept. For a full list please visit https://c4wellness.org.
