Our Board

The Kids In Need of Dentistry Board is a highly leveraged group of people that live and breathe KIND’s mission. Our board consists of individuals from many local professional industries and have the shared goal of keeping KIND’s mission in tact and providing the best guidance and support possible to the staff members and patients. Each board member brings a unique perspective to KIND and is committed to growing support throughout the local community.

  • Mark Collier
    President

    Mark Collier is a health care and litigation attorney at Messner Reeves LLP. His practice focuses on litigation counsel, advice, and risk management in health, dental, mental health care, and a variety of corporate matters. Mark represents practitioners and health-related entities in malpractice cases, and assists professionals in front of licensing boards including the Colorado Medical Board, Colorado Dental Board, Board of Nursing, and the mental health boards. In addition, Mark has represented clients with matters involving the Colorado Department of Public Health, Colorado Division of Civil Rights, and the Department of Health and Human Services (HIPAA complaints). Mark also assists clients with business concerns, including corporate formation and dissolution matters and risk management consultation. He has been asked to speak and write on issues regarding health care records, subpoenas, HIPAA, and other risk management topics.

    With over 14 years of business lending experience in the Colorado market Paul Jerez’s primary focus is strengthening relationships in the dental market with current customers and prospective clients. Paul provides a holistic approach in meeting the needs of businesses, including loans, lines of credit, deposit solutions, and money management. Paul understands that dentists are passionate about helping patients, so his goal is to make that mission as effortless as possible.

  • Kerrie Bunce
    Board Member- Immediate Past President

    Kerrie is a Colorado native, born and raised in Centennial, CO. She became a KIND Board of Trustee member in August 2014. Kerrie has actively participated in many KIND events over the past 5 years as a sponsor and volunteers her time for annual KIND events. Kerrie has worked with hundreds of dental practices in Colorado financing acquisitions, expansions, re locations and equipment. She has worked in the financial industry for the past 11 years and has always specialized in commercial lending, business banking and practice finance. She has spent most of her career working with dentists as a trusted advisor and partner. Recently, Kerrie joined UMB Bank and is currently a Vice President - Senior Relationship Officer with the Business Banking division.

  • Josh Austin
    Treasurer

    Mr. Austin joined Mastin Bergstrom LLC in 2012. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College Of Law and was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2011.

    Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Austin worked for over 15 years in the information technology field. This was the critical time frame when computers became such an integral aspect of how work is accomplished. He assisted companies to implement technologies that allowed for increased productivity which resulted in substantial reductions in costs and increased revenues.

  • Dr. Elizabeth Crespi
    Board Member

    Dr. Elizabeth Crespi is originally from Long Island, NY, but now calls Colorado home. Dr. Crespi recently started her own practice, Sunrise Pediatric Dentistry, here in Denver and enjoys working with children everyday! She graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. She attended Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her DMD degree in 2009, graduating with high honors and placing third in her graduating class. Dr. Crespi was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society based upon scholarship and character in the dental profession. Dr. Crespi went on to complete her residency at Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY, and is board certified in pediatric dentistry. As a board member for KIND, Dr. Crespi brings with her a passion for helping underserved children and helping them find a dental home.

  • Clarisa Hernandez
    Board Member

    Since Clarisa moved to Denver from Phoenix, Arizona in 2012 to start a branch of her financial planning practice, she has been involved in the community and has been dedicated to giving back. She almost immediately became a partner for Social Venture Partners, had her office participate in charity work for Ronald McDonald House, Clothes to Kids, Extreme Community Makeover, etc. and most recently joined the board for Westwood Unidos. Clarisa is motivated by and committed to KIND’s mission of increasing the health and happiness of Colorado’s children because she herself was once a child who benefited from non-profit dental care.

    Clarisa graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Business Management as well as a minor in Spanish and a Certificate in International Business. She earned her CFP® designation is 2012 and her CHFC® in 2016.

    Well known facts about Clarisa include that Spanish was her first language and she is an avid skier, with the goal of 30 days a year on the mountain. A lesser known fact about Clarisa is that she is a “has been black belt in karate.”
